Postkarten sind persönlich. Fremde Handschrift, Adressen, Namen von Menschen, die nie gefragt wurden, ob ihre Zeilen in eine Cloud wandern. Deshalb ist die Voreinstellung zurückhaltend:
- Die Texterkennung läuft auf deinem Gerät. Dafür verlässt kein Bild das iPhone.
- Die KI-Analyse ist optional und läuft erst, nachdem du einmalig zugestimmt hast. Du startest sie pro Karte selbst.
- Deine Freundesliste wird nie an die KI geschickt. Der Abgleich von Absendern mit Personen passiert lokal.
- Es gibt keine Werbung, kein Tracking und keine Weitergabe deiner Daten zu Werbezwecken.
- Du kannst dein Konto jederzeit in der App löschen.
Privacy
Your cards belong to you
Postcards are personal. Other people's handwriting, addresses, names of people who were never asked whether their lines would end up in a cloud. That is why the default is restrained:
- Text recognition runs on your device. No image leaves your iPhone for it.
- AI analysis is optional and only runs after you have given consent once. You start it per card yourself.
- Your friend list is never sent to the AI. Matching senders against people happens locally.
- There is no advertising, no tracking and no sharing of your data for advertising purposes.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Brauche ich einen Scanner?
Nein. Die Kamera deines iPhones reicht. Du kannst Karten auch aus der Fotomediathek importieren oder aus einem PDF, falls du schon einmal gescannt hast.
Funktioniert die App ohne Internet?
Ja. Deine Sammlung liegt auf dem Gerät und ist immer verfügbar. Das Internet wird nur für den Sync zwischen deinen Geräten und für die optionale KI-Analyse gebraucht.
Was passiert mit den Fotos meiner Karten?
Sie liegen auf deinem Gerät und, wenn du angemeldet bist, verschlüsselt übertragen auf einem Server in der EU. An die KI gehen sie nur, wenn du eine Cloud-Analyse aktiv startest, und auch dann nur diese eine Karte.
Kann ich meine Sammlung wieder herausbekommen?
Ja. In den Einstellungen kannst du eine vollständige Sicherung deiner Sammlung als Archiv exportieren, Bilder inbegriffen.
Wie erkenne ich, ob die Analyse richtig liegt?
Jeder Vorschlag kommt mit den Belegen, aus denen er gefolgert wurde, und du übernimmst jedes Feld einzeln. Nichts wird ungefragt in deine Karte geschrieben.
Gibt es die App auch für Android?
Derzeit nicht. Dearly Kept ist eine native App für iPhone und iPad.
Do I need a scanner?
No. Your iPhone camera is enough. You can also import cards from your photo library or from a PDF, if you have scanned them before.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Your collection lives on the device and is always available. The internet is only needed for syncing between your devices and for the optional AI analysis.
What happens to the photos of my cards?
They stay on your device and, if you are signed in, on a server in the EU, transmitted encrypted. They only go to the AI when you actively start a cloud analysis, and even then only that one card.
Can I get my collection back out?
Yes. In the settings you can export a complete backup of your collection as an archive, images included.
How do I know whether the analysis is right?
Every suggestion comes with the evidence it was derived from, and you accept each field individually. Nothing is written into your card unasked.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. Dearly Kept is a native app for iPhone and iPad.
